Additional Notes

Rules for All Photography at Edinburgh Comic Con

Photographs/video are permitted in all public areas of the show, but please make yourself aware of the following rules:

1. Outwith sessions such as guest panels and the cosplay competition, you must seek permission from the subject(s) before commencing. Should your subject request to see the photograph/footage taken, you must oblige without hesitation.

2. Under no circumstances will it be acceptable to take photographs or footage that compromise the dignity of the subject, such as shooting up a skirt or kilt. Anyone found guilty of such actions will automatically be barred from our events for life, and we will co-operate with the authorities to have you prosecuted within the full extent of the law.

3. Any and all equipment must be held by the photographer/videographer. You can not use free standing equipment unless it is part of an exhibition space with all the required paperwork being completed. This also applies those in possession of a press pass, as this does not grant you permission to set up a studio under any circumstances.

4. The use of any power sockets within the venue requires written permission from the event and will likely be a chargeable service.

6. Unless you are a paid trader with an exhibition space, or have valid written permission from an authorised member of Edinbugrh Comic Con, photographs taken at our event may only be sold to press outlets. Should you be found to solicit your photography services to the general public for financial reward without a valid exhibition space, you shall be charged a £500 fee for commercial photography.
