Kevin Nowlan, is a multi-award winning artist, who has worked as a penciler, inker, colourist and letterer on more titles than we have space to do justice.

Although initially noticed via his illustrations in The Comics Journal and Amazing Heroes, it wasn't long before he was working for Marvel on books such as Doctor Strange and Moon Knight.

For DC Comics, he worked with O'Neil and Quesada on the Batman: Sword of Azrael mini-series which introduced the character Azrael.

Alongside Alan Moore, he co-created the character Jack B.Quick, who appeared several times in Tomorrow Stories, and was a member of America's Best during the final story arc of Promethea.

Award wise, Nowlan has picked up two Inkwell Awards for Favourite Finisher/Embellisher and The Joe Sinnot Hall of Fame Award, while also winning an Inkpot Award in 2015.

ECC can't wait for Kevin to join us, but in the meantime, we're off to read issue #4 of Modern Masters and get ourselves up to speed with his life and work.
