Multi-talented Dan McDaid has made a significant and memorable contribution to the Doctor Who mythos. He made his debut in Panini’s Doctor Who Storybook in 2008 and soon moved onto the Doctor Who Magazine (DHM).
Dan’s work history and eclectic sensibility extends far beyond the Doctor, however, and his work has also been published by Boom, DC, Dark Horse, Dynamite, IDW, Image, Oni Press, Panini and Vertigo.
Working with writer Glen Brunswick, Dan produced the widely praised Jersey Gods for Image. Dan’s energetic art seamlessly shifts from ordinary life to gods at work.
Boom! Studios released Dan’s dream project, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, over 2014-15. However, we personally prefer his work on one of our personal favourites, Big Trouble in Little China, also for Boom.
Recently, Dan enjoyed a year long run on Judge Dredd for IDW, before undertaking a short run on King's Quest for Dynamite and contributing to the recent Doom Patrol relaunch by Gerard Way.
ECC extends a warm welcome to Dan, one of the friendliest guys on the con circuit, and will hopefully get a chat about Time Share, his new graphic novel with Patrick Keller from Oni Press.
